Key Takeaways

  • TRM Labs has doubled its valuation to $2 billion through a Series C expansion led by Blockchain Capital, only six months after reaching a $1 billion valuation.
  • The blockchain intelligence firm’s annual recurring revenue has quadrupled over the past three years, while its customer base now spans more than 600 government agencies and private-sector institutions across 75 countries.
  • The financing highlights growing institutional demand for blockchain intelligence as crypto regulation, sanctions enforcement and AI-enabled financial crime become increasingly interconnected.

TRM Labs has doubled its valuation to $2 billion following an expansion of its Series C financing, marking a rapid repricing of one of the crypto industry’s leading blockchain intelligence companies. The development comes as digital-asset markets mature and governments, banks and exchanges place greater emphasis on transaction monitoring, sanctions compliance and technology capable of detecting increasingly sophisticated financial crime.

A Rapid Repricing of Blockchain Intelligence

The latest financing follows TRM’s $70 million Series C round in February, which valued the company at $1 billion. The new investment amount was not disclosed, but the expansion was led again by Blockchain Capital and reflects a doubling of valuation in roughly six months.

The acceleration is supported by operating growth. TRM said its annual recurring revenue has quadrupled over the past three years, while its platform is now used by more than 600 government agencies and private-sector institutions across 75 countries. The company has also expanded its workforce to roughly 500 employees, according to recent company disclosures.

The valuation increase therefore reflects more than a broader crypto-market recovery. Investors are placing greater value on infrastructure that can convert blockchain transaction data into compliance, investigative and risk-management intelligence.

AI Becomes the Second Growth Engine

TRM’s strategy is increasingly extending beyond conventional blockchain forensics. The company is developing AI-native investigation capabilities designed to identify fraud, scams, cybercrime, money laundering and other criminal activity across fragmented digital networks.

The shift addresses a rapidly expanding threat. The FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center reported $21 billion in losses from internet crime in 2025, up from $16 billion in 2024. TRM also estimates that criminal adoption of AI increased 40% year over year in 2026.

For institutional crypto participants, the implication is significant: blockchain analytics is increasingly becoming part of a wider digital-risk infrastructure rather than a niche compliance function.

Regulation and Institutional Adoption Reinforce Demand

The regulatory environment provides another structural driver. Stablecoin legislation, sanctions enforcement and expanding anti-money-laundering requirements are increasing the need for institutions to identify counterparties and trace transactions across multiple blockchains.

TRM’s database and investigative infrastructure cover more than 180 blockchains and more than 2.4 billion labeled addresses associated with illicit activity, according to company data. That scale becomes increasingly relevant as crypto activity moves across chains, exchanges and decentralized applications.

Strategic Outlook for Crypto Infrastructure

TRM’s $2 billion valuation signals that investors increasingly view compliance and intelligence infrastructure as core components of the digital-asset economy. The next test will be whether AI-driven investigations can translate rapid revenue growth into durable margins while maintaining the accuracy, auditability and evidentiary standards required by governments and financial institutions. As crypto adoption expands alongside AI-enabled financial crime, that balance could become a defining factor for the sector’s next generation of infrastructure companies.
