Financial technology company Revolut said sensitive customer information was disclosed after an unauthorized party used a legitimate government agency email domain to submit fraudulent requests for customer data.
The information reportedly included passport copies, verification selfies and complete transaction histories belonging to a limited number of customers.
According to International Cyber Digest, the requests initially passed Revolut’s authentication checks because they appeared to originate from an authentic government domain. The company later determined that the requests were fraudulent and notified affected customers.
Revolut said it blocked the relevant address after detecting the activity and alerted the government agency whose domain had been used. Law enforcement agencies and financial regulators were also notified.
The company said its systems and customer funds were not affected and that it was directly contacting impacted individuals to provide information and support.
The incident has raised broader questions about the security of sensitive KYC information, particularly when financial institutions receive external requests for customer data.
Anthropic is reportedly in discussions with Nvidia over a potential $10 billion investment as the artificial intelligence company explores what could become one of the largest initial public offerings in history.
Reuters reported that Anthropic is seeking to raise as much as $100 billion in the potential offering, which could value the company at approximately $2 trillion.
The discussions remain ongoing and could change, according to people familiar with the negotiations. Neither company had confirmed the terms.
A Nvidia investment would potentially give Anthropic an important strategic backer while strengthening the relationship between the chipmaker and one of its significant customers.
The potential transaction reflects the enormous capital requirements of frontier AI development, where companies are competing to secure advanced computing capacity and expand increasingly sophisticated AI systems.
Anthropic declined to comment, while Nvidia had not responded to a request for comment at the time of reporting.
Swiss crypto financial services firm Bitcoin Suisse is reportedly preparing to move as many as half of its Swiss positions abroad as it expands its international operations.
The Zug-based company, founded in 2013, provides cryptocurrency trading, custody, staking and lending services.
According to Swiss financial publication Finews, the restructuring could affect up to 60 of Bitcoin Suisse’s approximately 120 Swiss positions, primarily across back-office and administrative functions.
The affected roles are expected to move to lower-cost locations in Bratislava and Vietnam. Bitcoin Suisse plans to establish a new location in Vietnam as part of the broader restructuring.
CEO Andrej Majcen said operating the affected functions in the two countries would be significantly less expensive. He also said the changes were not a response to weakness in cryptocurrency markets but instead formed part of the company’s international expansion strategy.
Majcen said Bitcoin Suisse is seeking to build a broader wealth and asset management business as it expands its global footprint.
Today’s developments highlight three different forces shaping the digital-asset and technology sectors: growing cybersecurity risks around centralized financial platforms, massive capital requirements for advanced AI and the restructuring of crypto businesses around international cost and growth strategies. Together, they show how companies operating at the intersection of finance, technology and digital assets are adapting to increasingly complex regulatory, competitive and operational pressures.
