SKN | Stand With Crypto Endorses US Candidates Ahead of 2026 Midterms

Key Points:

  • Stand With Crypto has endorsed Republican Jon Husted, Ashley Hinson and Democratic candidate Chris Pappas in three Senate races.
  • The Coinbase-backed advocacy group also added House candidates Mariannette Miller-Meeks and Shomari Figures to its endorsements.
  • The campaign comes after the Senate failed to advance the CLARITY Act in September, leaving the future of comprehensive US crypto market-structure legislation uncertain.

Stand With Crypto, a cryptocurrency advocacy organization backed by Coinbase, has expanded its involvement in the 2026 US midterm elections with endorsements across several Senate and House races.

The organization announced support for Republican Sen. Jon Husted of Ohio, Republican Rep. Ashley Hinson of Iowa and Democratic Rep. Chris Pappas of New Hampshire in Senate contests. It also endorsed Republican Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks of Iowa and Democratic Rep. Shomari Figures of Alabama for House seats.

The group says its endorsements are based on candidates’ positions on digital asset policy rather than party affiliation. Stand With Crypto previously endorsed more than 30 House candidates in August and has continued expanding its election program as Congress considers the future of US cryptocurrency regulation.

Crypto Policy Moves Closer to the Election

The latest endorsements follow the Senate’s Sept. 15 procedural vote on the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, which failed to reach the 60 votes required to advance. The vote was 50-49, with four Republicans joining Democrats in opposition.

The CLARITY Act would establish a broader federal regulatory framework for digital assets and define responsibilities between federal regulators. Its failure to advance has left lawmakers and the industry facing additional negotiations over the legislation’s future.

Stand With Crypto has subsequently updated its candidate scorecard to account for lawmakers’ positions and voting records on the legislation. The organization said its more than 3 million advocates would shift greater attention toward candidates it considers supportive of clearer digital asset rules.

Senate Races Draw Industry Attention

Husted’s Ohio race has attracted particular attention from the cryptocurrency industry because he is facing former Sen. Sherrod Brown, who previously chaired the Senate Banking Committee.

Fairshake, a crypto-focused political action committee, has separately announced plans to spend $30 million in the Ohio contest. The broader crypto industry has already directed substantial political spending toward the 2026 election cycle, continuing the involvement that became prominent during the 2024 elections.

Stand With Crypto’s endorsements represent a separate advocacy effort focused on candidate support and voter mobilization.

House Campaign Expands

The organization is also increasing its activity in House races. Alongside Miller-Meeks and Figures, Stand With Crypto said it would increase advertising in six additional House contests, including races involving Democratic Rep. Don Davis and Republican Rep. Bryan Steil.

The organization has emphasized candidates who supported the CLARITY Act when it passed the House in 2025. Its broader election strategy includes a voter hub and candidate scorecard designed to provide information about lawmakers’ digital asset positions.

The campaign illustrates how cryptocurrency policy has become part of congressional election activity, with industry organizations seeking to influence which lawmakers will shape future legislation and regulatory policy.

Outlook

Stand With Crypto’s latest endorsements place digital asset policy directly into several competitive congressional races ahead of the November midterms. The organization’s bipartisan slate reflects its stated focus on candidates’ crypto positions rather than party affiliation.

The outcome of the elections could affect the composition of Congress when lawmakers revisit digital asset legislation. For now, however, the CLARITY Act remains stalled after its September procedural vote, leaving the next stage of US crypto market-structure policy dependent on further congressional negotiations and the priorities of the next Congress.
