Key Points

  • Fomo generated $1.76 million in daily revenue, surpassing Pump.fun’s $1.1 million on Friday.
  • Pump.fun remains significantly ahead over 30 days, generating more than $57 million compared with Fomo’s $17.6 million.
  • Fomo’s expansion into social trading, perpetual futures and user incentives is broadening competition across Solana’s retail crypto market.

Fomo Overtakes Pump.fun in Daily Revenue

Social trading platform Fomo surpassed memecoin launchpad Pump.fun in daily revenue on Friday, marking a notable shift in the competitive landscape for Solana-based retail crypto activity.

According to DefiLlama data, Fomo generated approximately $1.76 million in revenue during the day, compared with $1.1 million for Pump.fun.

The single-day lead does not yet indicate a broader reversal in platform dominance. Over the previous 30 days, Pump.fun generated more than $57 million in revenue, compared with approximately $17.6 million for Fomo.

The difference highlights the importance of separating short-term revenue spikes from sustained platform activity. Fomo’s latest performance nevertheless demonstrates that alternative trading platforms are increasingly capable of capturing significant transaction flows within Solana’s highly speculative retail market.

Social Trading Gives Fomo a Different Model

Fomo differentiates itself from traditional memecoin launchpads by combining cryptocurrency trading with social-media-style features.

Users can follow a feed showing other traders’ activity, allowing them to observe transactions and potentially use that information to influence their own trading decisions.

That model places social interaction at the center of the trading experience rather than focusing primarily on token launches.

The approach also positions Fomo to benefit from the growing overlap between social media, retail speculation and cryptocurrency trading, particularly among users looking for real-time signals from other market participants.

$550 Million Valuation Fuels Expansion

Fomo’s growth has attracted substantial venture capital. In June, the company closed a $75 million Series B funding round led by Index Ventures, giving the social trading platform a valuation of approximately $550 million.

Fomo said more than 68,000 users had made their first cryptocurrency purchase through the platform using Apple Pay. Those transactions represented approximately $25 million in volume, highlighting the company’s effort to lower the barrier to entry for new crypto users.

The combination of social functionality and simplified payment access could become an important competitive advantage as crypto platforms attempt to attract mainstream retail users.

Fomo Expands Into Perpetual Futures

The platform has also moved beyond spot cryptocurrency trading.

On June 11, Fomo launched perpetual futures contracts powered by Hyperliquid for users outside the United States. The expansion gives users access to leveraged derivatives alongside its existing trading products.

Fomo has additionally used referral incentives to drive user acquisition. The company reported paying more than $2 million in referral fees to users as part of its growth strategy.

These initiatives suggest Fomo is pursuing a broader trading ecosystem rather than relying on a single product category.

Revenue Gap Still Favors Pump.fun

Despite Fomo’s daily breakthrough, Pump.fun retains a substantial lead when measured across a longer period.

Its more than $57 million in 30-day revenue remains over three times Fomo’s $17.6 million. Pump.fun’s established position in Solana’s memecoin economy continues to provide a large base of activity, even as newer platforms compete for retail attention.

The daily reversal is therefore better viewed as a signal of increasing competition than evidence that Fomo has overtaken Pump.fun in overall market traction.

Outlook

Fomo’s latest revenue performance illustrates how quickly competitive dynamics can shift within Solana’s retail crypto ecosystem. While Pump.fun maintains a commanding lead over longer periods, Fomo is building a broader platform around social trading, derivatives and user acquisition. Sustaining higher daily revenue over time, rather than producing isolated spikes, will be the key test of whether Fomo can materially narrow the gap with established Solana platforms.
